I love how the sky's blue shows up in the icicles. This photo was taken through the bedroom window because there is no way to do it outside. I thought that the spots on the glass would show up, but they do not.

First Thing-A-Day, Feb. 1, 2009
I played with my camera today for my first Thing-a-day creation. It was a pain trying to figure out the Thing-a-day website. I had a hard time uploading this photo. I think that it is on there now but part of the top is cut off. My photos are large files when I take them and I am still working out how to get them smaller for the web. Just when I think that the file is small it turns out that it is not small enough. Oh well, I will get it sooner or later.

That is very interesting.
You have icicles, and we are so dry and hot, we have fire danger warnings through tomorrow! Don't know which is worse-the years of drought or the years we have floods.
I haven't tried to post anything for the Thing A Day site yet. If you had trouble, I may find it impossible! It has to be easy for me to be able to do computer things.
I'm beginning to feel a bit stressed with all the lists and groups I am on, plus regular e-mail. But, I'm going to try it and see if I can manage this new group.
How beautiful, Rhonda!
When I post photos to Wordpress, which powers Thing-A-Day too, I first resize the photos in Microsoft Office Picture Manager (since I don't have anything sophisticated on my computer right now).
You just want something that would fit into most screens, so if you open the photo and the Picture Manager reduces it to, say, 49% to fit the whole thing into your computer screen, then you know you are safe to resize it to at least that. Makes for quicker uploads, too! It doesn't reduce your quality, but it does make life easier! And you can save the resized picture under a different name if you want to keep your original.
Can't wait to see your next submission ~ I really love all the colours at play here.

This is an amazing photo!
Great photo...when I fist saw it I thought it was a water colour!
Great photo. You've captured the icicles with such clarity.
