Yes, I say that a lot. I do have good intentions to post more often but life comes at me like a freight train. It seems like I am constantly trying to run besides that train. Same ole excuse. Sorry.

I have changed some parts of my life that were kind of dragging me down. That is a story for another day.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to pursue my desire to create a monochromatic art piece using Legos. First, I had to sort through my hundreds of misc. Lego pieces into color groups. That took a bit of time to do. Once I did that I could see what it was I wished to create. However, before creating it I have to order a couple of 10 x 10 white base plates (I have two black as well). Once those arrive I began the project. There were not any instructions on where to put each bit, it just flowed out of my artist's mind and out through my hands. The piece evolved each time I sat down to work on it. More like play with it. After working on it for a week or so and using up every white (there are not any painted parts) Lego piece it was done.

I found a frame on Amazon.com that was nearly the same size as my piece. When the frame arrived I had to paint the backing board black to match the frame. Of course, I did not use the frame's piece of Plexiglass because of the 3D aspect of the artwork. I mounted it with super-duty double-sided tape and hung it on the wall.

Looking straight at the piece is fascinating, however, if you look up from the bottom, it looks like a futuristic city all in white. There are several parts that move and reveal some surprises. Yes, there is a Lego figure located in the upper left corner. What is a Lego set without a figure? Got to have at least one.

It was quite fun to create and it felt good to be listening to my muse. She has been silent for some time now. Hopefully not any longer.

I hope you like the piece. Be well, my friends. Ciao!
Rhonda L.

I have read this book, okay I listened to it. It was a really good book and quite enjoyable, but it didn't help. Maybe a little, but I am still a procrastinator. I checked out Eat That Frog:21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time by Brian Tracy from my local library. It looked promising. However, I procrastinated on getting started and then it was time to return it. Just now I looked up books on procrastination and there are a lot. Perhaps it shows me that I am not alone at the procrastination party. With that many books, there must be a lot of people who have that same problem. You are probably wondering what it is I am not doing. What is causing the procrastination issue of the day? Well, here it is, I started at about 10 this morning with the intention of writing my part of our team's lesson plans for the week. After a few minutes, I found myself doing so many other things on the web. I have successfully revised and created new pages of my website. Of course, that lead me here to my blogs and the realization that I have not posted in some time, so of course I had to fix that. It is now 3:30 in the afternoon and I still have not managed to get back to the lesson plan. Good thing I still have tomorrow to work on it. Seriously, the thing isn't due until Monday morning. I have all day Sunday to work on it, and I will get it done.
Here is what I have learned today. I truly enjoyed working on my website and blogs, so I guess the day full of procrastination was productive in the end, and really that is all that matters. I will probably always be a procrastinator. All I can say now is this; Procrastinators Unite! (someone who isn't a procrastinator will have to organize our get together. ;-) Ciao and be well my friends.
Hi all,
Just thought that I would let you know that I am still here. Yes, it has once again been some time since my last post. My bad! Anyway, sorry about that. Not going to make any promises, because they don't always get kept. I will check in as often as possible. Life is busy and this is as much of a promise as I can make at the moment. Hang in there with me and all will be worth it.

I just got a new art tool and it is kicking my butt! The tool? Well, it is a new super awesome HP Spectre 360 13" computer. I have been wanting to draw on a tablet but did not want to buy an iPad. So this computer is the next best thing and it is capable of doing so much more than the iPad. I have to do some more research on what is the best electronic pen to use for drawing and apps. That is part of the fun of having new equipment, you get to play and learn. It is a super fantastic computer. So much faster than my last computer which was bought in 2011. I still have that little red guy, because he still works. Oh, I did have a newer touch screen HP, but my son sat on it and broke the screen. So very sad. It was a nice computer but once the screen was broke it became a dead computer.
Another bit of art news. I put a couple of abstract paintings in an art show at my school. I will have to take a couple of photos and post them here as soon as I can. They look fabulous in the frames that I bought. This summer I hope to do more paintings and of course art on the computer. I need to get more art back in my life. It always helps me when I do. Oh, I have been keeping up with my Index 365 and have a little over a month to go till the challenge ends. I will try to take a photo of all the 3x5 cards at once. If I can manage that it would be an awesome photo.
Well, I better go and eat lunch. Please stay tuned for updates and artwork. Be well, my friends, Ciao! Rhonda L. My summer vacation is almost over. We fabulous teachers report back to school on August 6th. It will be two weeks before the kiddos come back. There is much to be done and learned before that happens. I am excited and looking forward to another group of wonderful second graders. Yay!

I have had an interesting and most productive vacation. First, I managed to take and pass the Praxis II test which allowed me to apply and receive my Level 2 teaching license. Thank goodness that is over.

Second, I started exercising again. I see a tiny bit of improvement. What I figure is if I do the exercises every day then sooner or later something will happen. That is it on that.

Another bit I did was go on some mini vacations. One to a resort town and the other camping. Both were fun.

Finally, maybe not finally because there were other activities that I did, but I just want to get to the art. I started a fun project using 3x5 index cards. The plan is to draw, paint, collage, etc., on one card daily. At first, it was difficult for me to figure out what to create on them. Those beginning cards are not so great, but hey they do show my progress. I have used a lot of my pens and paints so far on these little cards. Yes, the paper is horrible for some techniques, but still exciting to see what happens. I also write what material was used in the creating of the art piece on the back of the card. That way when I come back to them and wonder what was used to create it the information will be on the back of the card. The project was started on June 18th and as of today, there are 44 cards. Some of the cards I have used in my art journal that was also started this summer. That journal is fun and unique, but that is for another post. Probably when I get more done in it.

Another art project I did was to create in an art journal that I have had for a couple years now. It is a journal that I play in, so it does not matter if there are mistakes. There is no such thing as a mistake if you learn from it and yes, I learned from the mess-ups.

To help jump-start my art heart I watched some artists on YouTube. One such artist is James Burke. He creates wonderful non-realistic drawings of women (mostly). One of his videos shows what he does when he gets new art materials such as paint and markers. He makes swatch dolls or buildings. I loved the idea and because my studio contains so many markers, paints and various types of pens, I decided to create swatch dolls and buildings. Wow! What fun it has been and very freeing. I have discovered fun pens that have been hiding in my stash. Creating these swatches has helped me so much. I can feel the artist child in me screaming with a joyful noise.

The ladies in the picture above were created one day just for fun similar to Mr. Burke. I added my own twist. They are done with artist markers and other pens in the above-mentioned art journal. The journal is filling up with some fun and very colorful drawings. Yay!

Okay, these are just some of the activities I have done during my vacation. It is so nice having a studio again. I have missed it and my artist child is extremely happy.

Be well, Be happy, my friends.
I have been working on getting my Level II teaching license. Still not quite done yet. The first thing that I wanted to get done was my portfolio. I had several ideas going and was stalled by my choices.

When it came to why I was having a problem is the perfectionist in me. The one who thought that my portfolio had to be so good that it would get an "A". This is totally silly because I was not going to be graded on it. The portfolio was simply a way to show others that I am progressing as a teacher. This helped me to choose the method of how I wished to present my portfolio. What I ended up doing is revamping my website.

At first, I thought that it would be a simple thing to do. It was simple but very time-consuming. Okay, I could have just added some bits and pieces and called it good, but there again, the perfectionist in me had to have the website nearly perfect. Argh! Why do I do that to myself!? Not sure, perhaps it is how I grew up or how I was taught. I do not know, but trying to be perfect is annoying. It sometimes causes me to not do anything. My thinking is that if I can't be perfect at such and such then why do it. There are times when it is so bad that I am paralyzed by that thinking I have to be perfect. It has caused panic attacks and other illnesses. I have lost days from all this nonsense. I can't get those days back. However, I can start each day with the knowledge that no matter what I am perfect just the way I am. That mistakes are learning moments.

I have to move forward in my thinking. Move towards the best that I can be and not judge myself by what others think. Be grateful for the knowledge that if my feet touch the floor every morning when I am blessed with another day. Another day to do what I am meant to do and what I wish to do. I will be perfect when I leave this world and go to the next. For now, I must not let that perfectionist demon ruin another day.

St. Aubyn's reimagining of Shakespeare's infamous play, King Lear is just a gritty as the original. Lear is a man who is greedy with power and pride. Dunbar is a modern version of the original. A man driven by power and pride that eventually ends in the destruction of his empire and the one daughter that truly loved her father. Her love was for the man, not money or prestige. She only wanted the love and acceptance of her hard-hearted father. His other daughters are the female version of their father. Hard-hearted and cruel doing whatever it takes to get the power of the corporation.

I enjoyed reading St. Aubyn's version of King Lear. It was gritty and tragic. There was a couple of problems that I personally had. One is that I really do not know completely how the business world works. Not sure how stocks bought and sold can affect the bottom line of a corporation. Even so, I was able to follow the story and enjoy the up and down emotions of the characters. The other problem that might bother some is the profanity and sexual scenes. That being said, to me they added to those characters whom said and did the actions. Without those scenes and profanity, the character's evilness would have fallen flat. So if you don't like it then do not read this book. However, if it does not bother you and you are a fan of Shakespeare then I highly recommend St. Aubyn's Dunbar.
Yay! I managed to fulfill a drawing challenge. Okay, I did not do the challenge as prescribed by the originator, Mr. Jake Parker. Was not able to even do the prompts. Why? Well, I am a very busy person. My job as a teacher of twenty-six wonderful energetic second graders keeps me very busy. I also have other wonderful people who desire my attention. Anyway, it all does not leave me much time to draw. So I made the challenge fit my life.
I decided to create a two-page layout in my teacher bullet journal to draw 31 tiny ink pictures (32 because day 13 I did twice;-) By having in my teacher bullet journal I knew that it would be easier for me to create a drawing quickly. My goal was to take 5 minutes or less to draw something. As you can tell from some of the drawings my time to draw was less. It was more like 2 minutes. I only used a black Tombow marker because it was able to be in my teacher pen/pencil case. The header is some washi tape that has a pattern of art supplies on it. I used a Crink pen to write Inktober and the border. That is it. Pretty simple design and layout.
I really did enjoy taking those little bits of moments to draw/doodle something. The page is fun to look at, and because it is in my teacher bullet journal I can look at it as often as I like. I might even create another two-page layout in the same journal for the month of November: Noinkber, Inkember, the last one would work for December as well. I think that Noinkber is cool. Perhaps I can challenge myself to draw/doodle using some other medium, like crayon or colored pencil. Whatever the challenge is I better get going because it is already the 4 day of November. I will for sure share whatever creation I do for November. For now, I must go create. Be well, my friends.
Happy Creating!
If you are looking for an intense on the edge of your seat read, this is not the book. However, if you wish to visualize a bit of a French seaside lifestyle then read it. I enjoyed the story for this very

reason. It was a good story to read just before bed. It made for some great images to dream by. I did have a difficult time getting into the story because of how slow it is. The slowness did add to the feeling of being in a little seaside town and getting to know the many characters. At times keeping the characters straight was a challenge, but doable. Anyway, if you want a relaxing read then go for this story.

A quaint love story between a man, a woman, and the mountain. Finally, a love story that does not involve sex. This is very much a Christian love story. I enjoyed that about it. Another bit that I loved was the scene of the story. Oh, how I would have liked to walk in the shoes of the main character and be a naturalist in a national park. The story transformed me into that character while reading. There was just enough excitement to keep my attention. Ms. Barnett story has all the elements of a good story without the need for foul language and/or blatant sex scenes. The reader can still feel the angst, anger, and love between the characters without all of the garbage of gross language. Yes, it is a book I would recommend to my church friends. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series. (Sorry that my review does not tell you what went on in the story. I want you to go and check it out for yourself. Read it and discover your own voice about this book.) Enjoy!
Well, not me! As soon as my husband and I decided to go to Oregon on vacation this summer I started thinking about what journal and art supplies should I take. Okay, I did think about clothes and if it was necessary for me to buy new ones. Maybe a new t-shirt or two and perhaps flip-flops to wear on the beach. Other than that I think that what I will wear is pretty much taken care of. Now back to what journal and art supplies should I take.
After searching Amazon.com and checking out the Michael's Arts and Craft store near me for journals I finally found one. I ordered the TreeLine List book from Amazon.com and it arrived a couple of days ago.
It took me a few days to decide on this one. These journals are very different from others that I was considering. The paper is cream colored with both lines and a grid layout. The left side page has the grid and the lines are on the right side. The covers are chipboard made from recycled material. There is much more about them and I will let you go and check it out.

The journal that I got measures 4.25 x 11 inches and has a tree theme. To help gauge the size of the journal I took a picture of it next to a piece of 8.5 x 11 inch cardstock. Why would I get such a strange size for a travel journal? Well, because it is different and will make me change the way I create in it. The size of postcards will be a challenge for me as will other bits of ephemera. I will manage somehow to get them in.
I also ordered film for my instant camera. Yes, instant as in the old fashion Polaroid type film, only these are small.
The pictures are about 2 x 3 inches and just barely fit on the page of this journal. That is okay, because barely is better than not at all. If I turn the camera sideways then the photos will be printed in the portrait layout. In this layout they will fit on the page. I will take pictures both ways and all will be fine. I do not plan on taking my DSLR on this trip. I want to focus on little photos and most importantly drawing and writing about what I see. If I take my big camera then it is likely that it will be the main focus of my art. Another bit is that I want to have my photos in the journal within minutes of taking them, not when I get home and get around to having prints made. I do not have a lot of spare time at this point in my life to focus on making prints and putting them in my journal later. Most likely I will not get around to doing that. This is why I wish to use my instant camera and getting those photos glued down in my journal quickly. Honestly, the photos do come out quite nice. I am looking forward to adding more drawings in this journal and not as many photos.
Now to pair down or use a better way of transporting my drawing/painting materials. This has always been an issue for me. What should I take and if this pen or paint is left home what will I do if it is needed? I have a difficult time leaving a lot home, because I never know what my mood will be as far as which medium to use. So I take a lot. I do limit it to a small backpack, but still the way it is stored in the pack is annoying to me. I had been using various pencil cases, and although these are good at keeping the stuff safe it is not good for on the quick creations. I have to rummage around in the pack trying to find the bag that holds the medium that I am looking for. It just takes up too much time to do that. Doing a bit of research on Amazon.com I came across a solution. I found these roll-up pencil/pen cases. There are a lot of different styles and sizes to choose from, and yes it took me some time to choose a couple.
One holds 36 pencils/pens and the other 48. I got them with the intention of putting my Tombow markers in the 48 slotted one and my drawing pencils and pens in the 36 slotted purple one. The problem with this plan was that the Tombows did not fit very well in either one. They caused them to be very difficult to roll up. The Tombows also caused the purple case to come un-stitched, which I had to fix. So for now I have my Tombows in a pencil bag and I am still rearranging my drawing pencils and pens in the roll up cases. Not sure if I will be using both or just the one that holds 48. I have time to figure it out.
The page is not complete, but it is a least started. I will add more and perhaps take another photo of it when it is done. For now I think that this post is long enough. It has not been a real presence in my life for quite some time. When did it happen? Probably about the time I started graduate school. What is my excuse now? Work, family, and ? The usual excuses that most procrastinators seem to use. I did finish graduate school and have been working as a teacher for three going on my fourth year now. Love my job! It just seems like I am always doing something for it and not enough for me. Boo Hoo! Yes, I only have myself to blame. Look, it is almost a new year and as always a new start. Lucky for you I am not waiting for the new year to start before getting back into blogging. Not sure how often I will blog, but will try to at least post once a week or every other week. Who will read? I have no idea. Most likely no one will be reading it. That does not matter to me. I have a plan and will try my hardest to carry out that plan. If you are there to read it post a comment. Okay, lets do this! Ciao for now.Rhonda L. I have finally made it back to my blog. It is not because I did not want to add my creations to the blog, because I did. It is not my fault, it is the blog's fault. Okay, it is Google's fault. Over the past year or so I have been trying to retrieve access to my blogs with little success. That is until this last week when I was able to procure access. Not sure why it took so long, but at least I am back. Now the issue will be time to create art and then share it here or on one of my other blogs.
I have missed being able to blog about my art. In fact, I have missed creating art. Why has it taken so long? Well, I have been busy creating a career as a teacher. I went back to school to get a Master of Art in Teaching degree. It took a couple of years to finish and then some time to land a job and settle in. I am happy to say that I am a 1st grade teacher for a local charter school. It is a lot of work, but well worth the effort. The students make the job a joy instead of a chore. I love being a teacher (Okay, I was a teacher during the 20 years of homeschooling, now I am a paid teacher of other people's children;-)
Even though I love my job I was/am missing something in my life. I have love (divorced one man and married another since my last blog. That is a story for another day) and I have my career. What I am missing is a creative outlet. I miss creating art. I miss everything about it. The messes, buying or finding new art supplies, and even the angst of the blank page, This is why I have decided that even though I no longer have an art studio I will start creating in the space that I do have. It is a small corner in our apartment. Not a lot of room for supplies, but it will have to do. No matter what, each day I will create.
January Journal~
I made a Teesha Moore journal yesterday out of a sheet of watercolor paper and a smaller version out of Bristol paper. My Christmas gift to myself was a set of Faber-Castell Gelatos, watercolor and Bristol paper, plus the permission to begin creating again. This last bit was the most important gift, the gift to take the time I need to nurture my creative self.
Today, the 2nd of January I began playing with some of my art supplies. For the past six months I have been getting supplies in a monthly art supply box. It has been fun opening these boxes to see the cool new material that I can create with. I never know what will be in the box. Expensive, but fun. It is amazing how fast art supplies can build up. Never mind the cost, it is for a good cause. Me! Anyway, that is enough for now. I hope to be back soon with photos of my art. Be well my friends!
I had some of my art supplies sent over from the house that I was living in to my new apartment in Salt Lake City, Utah. Then I had to arrange my art supplies with my graduate school gear in an apartment that is not all that big, but big enough.
I love this place, but it was missing something. I also was missing something in my life. After doing the assignment with the hands for one of my graduate school classes, it dawned on me that I was missing a key element in my life. ART! My artist child was neglected for way too long.
Now that I have some of my art supplies, I can create art. Even if the creations are just doodling as I am taking notes in class, at least I am creating and satisfying that drive to create.
My next goal is to arrange my little basement so that I can bring over the rest of my art supplies. Then when I need some bits and pieces to go in or on an art project, I can simply go downstairs and gather what I need.
Now go create!
I had just finished my first semester in graduate school and needed to treat myself to something. Instead of food as a treat, I took myself on and Artist Date.
I posted a notice on the SketchCrawl.com forum inviting other artists in my area to meet me at a local library to draw and then travel on to another spot to create. That was the whole point of the activity. Gather some friends and go out and sketch together. At the end of the time agreed upon the group is to meet at a local coffee shop or whatever to share their thoughts and drawings.
I posted a time and place to meet and then waited to see if anyone wanted to get together. People read the post, but no one posted that they would meet me there. Well, I decided that I would still show up and hope that someone else would also.
I arrived at the library a little after 9 am and started to draw the Sugar beet sculpture that sits in front of the library. No one showed up, but at that moment I realized that it did not matter to me if anyone would. What I wanted was to draw, to add art back into my life. Yes, it would have been nice to have an artist friend to share with, but it did not happen. However, I really was not alone, because all over the world there were artists sketching, painting and so forth at the same time that I was. They have shared their artwork on the forum and I will also. It was a great day and I enjoyed every minute of it.
We both created our works of art using Prismacolor drawing pencils and paper that my daughter makes. (Walk Through Water Creative Arts)
Once again it had been a long time since I had used colored pencils, but the flower turned out great, but not as well as my son's drawing. I like his better. He had not done any creative work for a long time either. I really do not know why we ignored our Artist child for so long. We will not be letting that happen any longer. The Artist child in us needs to be given more opportunities to create. We will create and have a lot of fun doing our creations together. Here all along I thought that I did not have anyone to go out and about to draw with. My drawing companion was right there in my son and I should have had him go on the sketch crawl with me. Now I know better and we shall go and create.
This is true, my trailer or Parnassus on Wheels did in fact go camping without me. Rude! I guess he did not want to wait for me to go because he knew I was hard at work doing my graduate school assignments.
Parnassus let my oldest daughter and my youngest son take him camping for a week. They had to dry camp and tote their water in containers. Apparently, one of the pipes in Parnassus cracked during the winter. I did not think there was any water left in the pipes and plus there was that anti-freeze stuff in them. Of course, I am going off of what others have said. I have not been able to go over to Tooele to check the situation for myself. The water could be coming from something else.
Despite this Parnassus and company had fun camping. My daughter took this photo of him and you can see the new paint job I gave him at the end of last summer. I love the thin red line and the fresh green on him. If the door was closed in the photo you would be able to see the red around the window. There is much more I need to finish on him, but for now he is pretty just the way he is.
I hope to go camping a least once this season, but that is still up in the air. Graduate school takes a lot of work, which I love and does not end until July 12. There is another major holiday coming up in Utah and by the time I get set to go, it might be time to start a new semester of school. ;-(

Anyway, I hope y'all get to go camping and have fun!Rhonda L. But not the Flies;-(We have gone camping a couple of times now and have enjoyed the time in the mountains. The big problem we have had this last time is flies. I really do not like them! The flies will land on my legs and cause me to itch and that makes me not so happy.

Our camping grotto that we had last time was taken by other campers. We had to pick a place up the canyon and unknown to us, a place where the herd of cows love to hang out. Yes, real cows, cowboy cows and what do cows leave behind? You got it, cow pies;-) What loves cow pies? Yep, flies! Buzzing and annoying flies. No worries though, because my lovely oldest daughter went down to Walmart and bought a cheap, but nice screened tent. After my youngest and his big sister put up the tent, I was (we) were happy campers once again. We left the trailer up the canyon to come home to take a shower and will be going back up tomorrow.
I did manage to finish a complete journal dedicated to my wild trips in the mountains the last time up the canyon. Got started on a new journal this time around and wrote a lot. There are times when I am in bed and want to jump up and start writing, but I do not. What I should have is a notebook by my bed, in my bag, the car, bathroom, and here and there...well everywhere I am there should be a notebook. That way I can write when the thoughts come to me. Write! Write! Write! Leave your thoughts for those you love! Create, go now and have fun!Rhonda L. However, my favorite campground (see photo) to go to is probably still covered in snow and/or too many people. What I really want to do is to go camping and where I go, as long as it is in the mountains, does not really matter. I will take my trailer, books, writing stuff, art stuff, dogs, bird, a child or two, husband, misc. camping gear and of course food and head to the canyon near my home.

The camping is rustic, but not too far from home, which means my husband can come and go to work and home (he likes to take a daily shower, not much for getting dirty;-) taking care of business. My trailer does have a potty, so camping would not be too rustic;-) The key is, we just want to go camping!

I hope you all are having a wonderful summer with your families and taking time to be creative or relaxing with a good book. If not, take the time to do something for yourself, it fills the creative well.

I will post more often. I know that I have made that promise before, but now that I am not working there is more time. In order for my writing to get better and read by more people, it is key that I write more. My goal is to write more, plain and simple, right? So, hold me to it and I will. Now go create!Rhonda L. I know that it has been a long time between posts, but a lot has been going on this summer.

First, we did manage to redo the trailer, not completely, but the floor, wall and the decor is really nice. There is just a few more decorations I want to do. They will have to wait. We got to go camping a couple of times and will be going the weekend after Labor Day.

Second, I am getting healthier by the day! In fact, I got a job outside of my home and it pays money;-) not much, but that is not the reason I took the job. I am a Classroom Instructor (teacher's aid) at our local charter school. My son went there last year and he really wanted me to be a substitute, but the instructor job came up and I went for it. They hired me before I got home to read my email. My son was so excited he did a little happy dance. I work about 34 hours a week and I drive there by myself. Many of you who have been following my blog know what a major deal all this is. The only sad part is, now I do not have much time for art. I will save my Sundays for art and perhaps Saturday, too.
I worked on my Partnership Artist Art Journal today and that was fun. Need to let it dry before sending it off to my partner in AZ.

Finally, the best part of the summer is getting back with my father and my mom after nearly 15 years of not speaking to them. It is a long soap opera story. Long story made short; I just thought that my dad did not want to have anything to do with me after marrying my mom (step-mom, she is now my adopted mom). I got to see them for a bit and hug my dad and mom, plus we talk every weekend (they are a retired traveling couple). Just that little bit of time with him (them) helped my health a great deal.

So, you see it has been a busy summer. Now fall is coming and then winter, but there is always time for love and art.

Now go create beauty!

(Top photo is of Mt. Timpanogos one of the highest peaks in Utah, over 13,000 ft above sea level. The campground is around 8 to 9000 ft. a very beautiful place to be. One of my favorite spots in Utah. I love Aspen Trees. In fact, I have several in our yard.
Bottom photo is of a blooming Iris in my backyard up against the fence. We had a cold spring that lasted into June and my tulips never really bloomed much.;-( maybe next year.)Rhonda L. Happy May Day!
I am still working on my vintage trailer(it actually belongs to my hubby) and not doing much in the way of art. Perhaps working on my trailer is part of my art, because it is taking some imagination to figure out how to fix the problems and to update the decor. Yes?, No?, Maybe? Anyway, here are some photos showing some of the damage that can be done if you do not pay attention to water.
I have fixed the wall and will be adding white bead board over the walls, the outer walls. Hubby fixed the floor and we will put down some kind of tile. He has also fixed up the peeling paper off of the ceiling and will be priming that and the bathroom today. I am sewing covers for all of the cushions and making curtains. We also have to fix the potty because someone got into the trailer during the winter while the trailer was in storage and burnt a sanitary napkin and tossed it into the toilet and burned the bowl. It did not cause any holes but an ugly black burn mark with bubbles. In order to fix it we have to use a two part epoxy filler and a two part epoxy paint, which is a lot of work, but unless we find a new used (yuk!) toilet we have to do the work.
There is a bit of work to do on this 35 year old trailer but have you seen the prices of the new ones? Yikes! Besides that they just do not have any history or style, just blah, blah, blah, same ole stuff.
Well, today I am going to work on the cushions, since it is still storming outside. I hope to have them done soon. I will post some updated photos when we get done.
Once it is done I am going camping! Even if it snows;-)

Now you all have a happy and creative day!Rhonda L. Well, here goes my excuse as to why it has been too long. First, I got really sick, second, I got really busy and finally, I got really lazy. There that sums it up, now onto more important details.
I did do a few pages for my AJS class and some artist journal pages in my partnership journal, but other than that I have not done too much in the form of art. The obstacle in the way of my art, is that I have been dreaming of Spring and Summer, which means camping. Now that I am feeling better and have medication to control my panic attacks I want to go camping, but my trailer needs some work.
I also got the notion that I would like to spend a month in the mountains working on a book. Alone or semi-alone in the mountains away from the safety net of my home where there are neighbors to come to my rescue if I have a panic attack, which I have not had to do in three years. I want to be free to drive to different places and not be afraid. I want to be back to my ole self again.
My hubby and I fetched the trailer a couple of times from the place we store it at and began working on making it pretty. It was a dirty mess and had a bit a dry rot, but mostly the decor is tired looking. We have been working on it as often as the weather will allow, which in Utah is not very much and because our garage is up a steep driveway we have to work in the street. It will probably take us another few weeks to get it done. As long as it is done by the first of June I will be happy.
And that my friends is what I have been up to. Stay tuned for photos.
Yes, I know it is now February and the journal should have been done by the last day of January. I tried real hard to keep up with it, but life and other art projects got in the way. Okay, I take on too much and at the time it seems like I can get it all done, and yet somethings get pushed to the side and done later or perhaps never done. At least this project got done and it was a lot of fun doing it.
Some of the pages or prompts are not done in order and some of Milliande's prompts I did not do. My journal only contained sixteen pages, therefore I picked the prompts that fit or that I liked. It was fun watching her videos which you can see on YouTube. She is an amazing women and very talented!
